1. Introduction

Welcome to INCI Preferences ("Service", "we", "our", "us"), a web application available at incipreferences.app. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

3. Description of Service

INCI Preferences is a web application that provides personalized analysis of cosmetic product ingredients based on user-defined preferences. The main features include:

  • Personalized ingredient classification (safe, moderate, unsafe)
  • Cosmetic product database with search and filtering
  • Personalized product recommendations
  • Similar product finder (dupes)
  • OCR-based ingredient scanning from photos
  • Favorite products management

4. Eligibility

To use the Service, you must be at least 16 years old. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

If you are under 16, you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

5. Account Registration

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Choose a secure password
  • Keep your login credentials confidential
  • Take responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these Terms.

The Service is provided free of charge. We do not charge any fees for account registration, using the analysis features, or accessing recommendations.

We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future. Users will be notified in advance of any changes to the pricing model.

7. User-Generated Content

Users may add information about cosmetic products to the Service, including product names, brands, and ingredient lists. By submitting this content, you:

  • Confirm that you have the right to submit this information
  • Grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use the content within the Service
  • Understand that submitted content becomes publicly available in the Service
  • Agree not to submit false, misleading, or inaccurate information

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms without prior notice.

8. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purposes
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) without our permission
  • Submit spam, malicious content, or offensive material
  • Impersonate other users or entities
  • Collect data about other users without their consent
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code of the Service
  • Use the Service to violate the intellectual property rights of others
  • Overload the Service infrastructure with excessive requests

The Service, including its design, code, algorithms, and features, is the property of the Service providers and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Product information (names, brands, ingredient lists) submitted by users remains in the public domain within the Service and may be used by other users for personal analysis purposes.

10. Informational Nature of the Service

IMPORTANT: INCI Preferences is an informational and educational tool. The Service:

  • Does NOT provide medical, dermatological, or professional advice
  • Does NOT replace consultation with a qualified healthcare professional
  • Does NOT guarantee the accuracy of ingredient safety assessments
  • Analyses are based on user-defined preferences, not scientific studies

If you experience skin problems, allergic reactions, or have concerns about cosmetic products, consult a qualified dermatologist or healthcare provider.

11. Accuracy of Information

While we strive to maintain accurate product information, we cannot guarantee that all data in the Service is complete, accurate, or up-to-date. Product formulations may change over time. Always verify ingredients on the actual product packaging.

User-submitted product information has not been verified by us. We are not responsible for the accuracy of user-generated content.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:

  • Any allergic reactions, skin issues, or health problems resulting from the use of cosmetic products analyzed through the Service
  • Inaccurate or outdated ingredient information
  • Service interruptions, technical errors, or data loss
  • Actions taken based on Service recommendations
  • Third-party services integrated with the Service (hosting, database providers)
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

13. Third-Party Services

The Service uses third-party services for hosting, database management, and content delivery (Railway.app, Supabase, Cloudflare). Your use of the Service is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of these third-party providers.

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with GDPR.

15. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. Upon deletion, all your personal data will be permanently removed from our database.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activities, or misuse the Service.

While we strive to maintain the Service availability at all times, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
